This beautiful reproduction poster has been re-mastered from a circa 1970 advertising poster featuring professional skier/actor Jean-Claude Killy promoting air travel on United Airlines. Killy was a World Cup and Olympic skiing champion who promoted United Airlines through much of the 1960s and 70s.

The vibrant colors and detail of this classic image have been painstakingly brought back to life to preserve a great piece of history.

The high-resolution image is printed on heavy archival photo paper, on a large-format, professional giclée process printer. The poster is shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, and is ready for framing.

The 13"x19" and 24”x36” formats are excellent image sizes that look great as a stand-alone piece of art, or as a grouped visual statement. These posters require no cutting, trimming, or custom framing, and a wide variety of these frames are readily available at your local craft or hobby retailer, and online.

A great vintage print for your home, shop, or business!

JEAN-CLAUDE KILLY

Jean-Claude Killy is a French former World Cup alpine ski racer. He dominated the sport in the late 1960s, and was a triple Olympic champion, winning the three alpine events at the 1968 Winter Olympics, becoming the most successful athlete there. He also won the first two World Cup titles, in 1967 and 1968.

Born on August 30, 1943, near Paris, Killy grew up in the French Alps at the ski resort of Val-d'Isère, where his father opened a ski shop. He dropped out of school at 15 to pursue a skiing career and quickly became a leading talent known for his daring and innovative style.

After his Olympic sweep, Killy retired from amateur racing at the end of the 1968 season to pursue commercial ventures and other interests.

He became a professional skier in 1972 (winning a world professional championship in 1973), and launched a successful ski apparel company. Killy also appeared in films and worked as an endorser for brands like United Airlines and Rolex.

Killy was also an automobile racing enthusiast, competing in several events including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1969. He has held significant administrative roles in the sports world, including Co-President of the Organizing Committee for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.

Jean-Claude Killy's legacy in skiing is long-lasting, with the ski area encompassing Val d'Isère and Tignes in the French Alps being named "Espace Killy" in his honor until the name was officially retired in 2016.
