HISTORY OF THE CROMWELL HOTEL
The Cromwell Hotel was an Art Deco-style hotel built in Miami Beach in 1939. The beachfront hotel was designed by architect Robert A. Taylor. This classic hotel featured a large glass-enclosed dining room, with an adjoining dance floor, and a card room. The outdoor amenities included a rooftop solarium, a large swimming pool, and a private beach. The Cromwell and Shore Club Hotel are both part of Miami Beach’s Ocean Drive/Collins Avenue Historic District.
