CANADIAN PACIFIC LINE’S GLASGOW ROUTE HISTORY
 
The Canadian Pacific Line operated key routes between Glasgow and Canada (Montreal/Quebec), primarily utilizing vessels inherited from the Allan Line.
 
Major routes included Glasgow–Quebec–Montreal in the summer and Glasgow–Saint John in the winter, with notable service from ships like the Grampian and Hesperian. 
 
Following Canadian Pacific's takeover of the Allan Line, these routes were integrated into the Canadian Pacific Steamships services. The service was vital for passenger transport and cargo between Scotland and Canada, particularly from the late 19th century through the early 20th century.
 
Primary Route: Glasgow – Belfast – Quebec – Montreal.
 
Winter Route: Glasgow – St. John’s NF – Quebec – Montreal.
 
Other Routes: Glasgow to Boston, New York, and Philadelphia.
 
Key Vessels: Grampian (held the Montreal-Glasgow record), Hesperian, Cassandra, Saturnia, and Sicilian.
 
Key Terminals: Often used Princes Dock in Glasgow for transatlantic traffic.
