Chromac Outboard Motors were manufactured in Australia in the 1950s. The motors were known for ease of starting and reliability. The popular Chromac Cadet 4-1/2 hp model featured:
 
Throttle and steering controls conveniently situated for easy one-hand operation. Reliable performance with ample power for boats up to 18 feet in length. A clutch is included as standard equipment. A complete kit of tools including 1 tube of water grease, 1 qt. tin oil, 1 spare spark plug, and an emergency starter is supplied with each motor, plus complete service manual. Built-in starter ensures easy, certain starting. The starting wire is automatically rewound. Thrust produced at the propeller 110 lbs. Weight, approx 50 lbs.
